Plenary Panel: The importance of setbacks in knowledge exchange in public health.

June 15, 2022 from 4:20 pm to 5:00 pm

Speaker: Chair: Dr Peter van der Graaf. Panel: Vicky Ward, University of St Andrews, UK, Victoria Schuckel, Executive Director for Research and Innovation at the BC Ministry of Health, Canada, Prof Roland Bal, Erasmus University, the Netherlands, Prof Anne-Marie Bagnall, Leeds Beckett University, UK, Margaret Ogden, public member, UK

Exchanging evidence between academics, practitioners, policy makers and members of the publics is dependent on sharing the right knowledge in the right format at the right time with the right people. Setbacks in knowledge exchange occur when the opposite happens: knowledge is not shared in the right format, or at the wrong time, with the wrong people. This panel will discuss what knowledge is fit for exchange, at what time and in what format, for which people. Members will also explore the role of conversation spaces and managing different types of knowledge across various conversation spaces.
